Architecture & Design Festival

Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV)
May15th –  May 17th 2025

In May 2025, Terraviva was honored to join Etsatopia, the annual festival hosted by the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), dedicated to exploring what comes after architecture school (ETSA). This year’s theme? One of the most transformative tools for young designers: architecture competitions. We shared our story — from competitors to organisers — drawing on insights from over 10,000 projects reviewed worldwide. The aim: show how competitions can fuel innovation, recognition and real-world impact.

After the talk, 70+ students joined a 4-hour hackathon focused on the Antiguas Bodegas Vinival, a former wine warehouse in Valencia. The challenge: reimagine it as a space of memory and celebration for Las Fallas, the city’s iconic spring festival. Working in teams, students developed bold concepts and sketches to transform the site into a living archive of tradition.

What’s Next?

In June 2025, Terraviva will launch the Bodegas Vinival International Competition, open to students and professionals worldwide. The initiative aims to further explore the regeneration of the Bodegas Vinival site on a deeper and more comprehensive level. Take a look at our open competitions to stay updated and don’t miss your chance to take part!

Sincere thanks to the students, the Etsatopia organisers, the building owners and the members of the jury panels for making this initiative possible. The winning and finalist proposals from the hackathon will be published in detail after the conclusion of the international competition, in order to avoid influencing the final outcome.
