LIVING RUINS II – ARCHITECTURE COMPETITION

Through the design of a proper Open-Air Museum, “Living Ruins II” aims to collect projects capable of guaranteeing the conservation and revalorisation of such a unique Turkish heritage.

As stated in its own title, this competition attempts to counteract the current status of “Ghost Town” attributed to Dereiçi. By inviting visitors to spend more time exploring and appreciating the area, Slow Tourism could foster a deeper connection to the site, promoting virtuous practices and supporting the local economy.

Participants will be asked to design a museography concept that will transform Dereiçi into a dynamic living exhibition. The project should seamlessly blend historical elements with contemporary interventions.

The program include also the design of a Visitor Centre, to be conceived as the main reference point for tourists and a support space for cultural activities.
